Wildflowers, poppies, and lush verdant pastures adorn acres at Dream Horse Guesthouse (B&B). Ever changing is the view, as horses come and go. Most everyone, including dog, cat, and horse lovers & haulers look twice at the majestic timber frame barn, standing like a ship in a sea of corn and hay fields, in the Lake Pymatuning resort area of northeastern Ohio! This barn B&B is a landmark easily found from major highways. Also, a stone's throw south of the barn B&B is an Amish built horse barn with fenced pasture that offers convenience and beauty to guests. For people near and far, it is a memorable destination point to experience.

Indians knew the area before John & Rebecca Perkins settled Kinsman, Ohio in 1802. Early on, traveling missionary Badger, songwriter McGranahan, evangelist Moody, and attorney Darrow made Kinsman famous. Nearby Warren was capital of the Western Reserve. Today from Dream Horse, area architecture is a study waiting and a day's entertainment just may be the Romanesque courthouse in Warren. Local architectural styles include Greek and Gothic Revival, Federal, Farmhouse, Victorian, Carpenter Gothic, and Arts & Crafts varieties.

In 1920, the Britton family rebuilt this barn on the same foundation after the original barn burned down. Great Lakes and deep-sea merchant mariner Allan Kaulback purchased this barn from Britton in 1979. Six months a year this building project was a form of recreation. For years a space for crafts and hobbies, Allan's first woodshop existed in a 2nd floor haymow area. He envisioned having a commercial enterprise in the barn that came forth in July 2001, when Allan and his wife Catherine purchased a turn key shelf business. An elaborate Barn Cats Woodshop was set up in the calf loafing shed area to fill store orders, do finishing and a variety of custom wood work. Offering factory direct prices, they began selling shelves.

Since marriage in '91, Catherine shared the full routine of barn building and improvement. Her priority was to expose timber frame and original planks. Design of deck, gardens, barn, horse barn, and pasture spaces, as well as interiors, has reflected her interior design career. Allan and she put things together.together. "The barn is shouting, "BED AND BREAKFAST," remarked Catherine; and in '03, that is what developed. Trees and ground were pushed, deluxe horse pasture was seeded, and evergreen trees were thinned to enhance the operation of several businesses dba Kinsman Barn Cats. Sacrifice, work, perseverance, plans, and a true enjoyment of guests got this show going. Owners enjoy the barn ambiance, history, accomplishment, and guests (their comments, too!). Guest pets are always entertaining.

Five minutes from Lake Pymatuning, Dream Horse Guesthouse (B&B) is a rural barn retreat with 2 suites, 2 rooms, Sunflowers Spa with massotherapy, and horse boarding barn. A scrumptious breakfast is served chef's choice. Dreamy Decadent Blackberry Stuffed French Toast is one savored specialty. Dining area walls carry a mini boutique with novel gifts. Air and water are purified on the premises so people with allergies can enjoy the stay! Free demonstrations of Air and water purification can be arranged. Call if you are concerned about air-borne allergens.

Bicycling, horseback riding, walking, bird-watching (area eagle nests), petting zoo, lake swimming, water park, motorcycling, hiking, and much more await guests. Paint plein air or golf at Bronzwood golf course. Calendar of events includes winery tours, orchestra, horse shows, etc. From Dream Horse go to Pymatuning fireworks in July!!

Dream Horse Boarding Barn has stalls overnight or longer term for horses. Big rig parking, pasture and box stalls with Dutch doors are a delight. On premises; a round pen, demonstration paddock, field and pasture trails combine with nearby park trails for variety.

May '07, proprietors Jude Leonard and Elise Herman of Heart's Desire Antiques moved into the milking parlor (cow stanchion area) on the barn ground floor. That and easy parking lot access off State Route 7 and Webber Cole Road invites antique lovers!
